CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte women's tennis team is back in action at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when it plays host to Wofford at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex. The 49ers earned a win in their last contest and look to add another to the same column in the rescheduled match.

"We are looking forward to getting out on our home courts again tomorrow against Wofford," head coach Michaela Gorman said. "We will need to come out ready to play from the first point in order to earn a victory. We always have highly-competitive matches with Wofford and I expect tomorrow's match to be the same."

The two teams were originally slated to meet February 26 but the contest was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

The Niners are coming off a hard-fought, 4-3 triumph over North Carolina Central Saturday to improve to 7-4 on the campaign. Charlotte clinched the doubles point, which proved to be decisive, as the two squads split the six singles matches.

Each of the three singles victories came in straight sets, as the 49ers only dropped a combined eight games during the trio. The No. 3 doubles pairing of freshman Jessica Pérez and senior Alexandra Zinn also picked up a shutout during its contest.

The Terriers fell to 5-6 on the year after losing 4-3 to Charleston Southern Saturday. Again, it was a decisive doubles point that tipped the score to one side, as Wofford could not complete the comeback despite splitting the six singles matches.

In last year's meeting, Charlotte claimed a 5-2 win at the Reeves Tennis Center in Spartanburg, S.C., rallying from behind to post victories at the No. 2 through No. 6 singles spots.

Admission is free to all home 49ers tennis matches at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
