CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The final day of action at the Charlotte 49er Invitational has concluded at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex with the host 49ers picking up a pair of singles victories and one in doubles in the round-robin flighted tournament.

Charlotte opened the day with a 9-8 (6) victory at No. 1 doubles, as the pairing of Anna Ekelund and Lisa Grosselius topped Coastal Carolina's Kourtney Kowal and Libby Scott.

In singles play against East Carolina, the 49ers earned their two triumphs at the No. 4 and 7 positions. Natsuko Takayanagi handed the Pirates' Abby Richmond a 6-1, 6-0 setback, while Jessica Pérez used all three sets to knock off Karling Watson 6-4, 3-6, 10-3.

Charlotte played just three of the seven scheduled matches against UNC Greensboro in the afternoon due to various injury situations and Takayanagi and Ginny Johnson were able to force three-set decisions.

The 49ers will conclude the fall season in Winston-Salem, N.C., at the ITA Carolina Regional, hosted by Wake Forest. The event begins Thursday, October 18 and runs through Monday, October 22.
