The Charlotte 49ers men's and women's tennis programs had a little fun to finish up their fall team practice sessions, holding a week-long mixed doubles event that they hope to turn into an annual event. The teams were paired off randomly and took a costumed theme to the courts to crown a champion, the picture of whom will be displayed in the new facility when it opens next semester. Since the women's team has two extra players, there was one all-women's pair in the tournament, nine in total. Every team played one another in a best-three-of-five format. The team with most total number of games won were crowned the champions, which went to "Ca$h Money," the team of Alexandra Zinn and Jack Williams The two teams go into "hibernation" having the hours reduced to eight per week for practice time until next semester, when the spring dual match season begins. |
