Anna Ekelund is now a team-leading 19-8 in singles this season.
Sophomores Anna Ekelund and Iveta Guneva both captured singles wins as Charlotte women's tennis finished its two-match Spring Break Florida trip with a 5-2 loss to Jacksonville Tuesday at the Keith Watson Family Tennis Complex. Charlotte slips to 8-8 on the season, while the Dolphins are now 8-1. Ekelund improved her singles mark to a team-best 19-8 with the victory. She powered past Virginia Iwinski at number five. Guneva needed a 10-7 superset tiebreaker to settle a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 match for her team-best 13th win in the spring. She is 17-8 overall. Charlotte plays its final home match the next time it hits the court, a week from Saturday (March 19) in a 10 a.m. match versus conference foe Richmond. |
