Junior Charles Martin-Lecamp is the first A-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week from Charlotte this season.
Charlotte's Charles Martin-Lecamp was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Tennis Performer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Martin-Lecamp picked up a pair of No. 1 singles victories last week, defeating Duquesne's Aram Abgaryan in three hard-fought sets (6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-3)), before outlasting Justin Kirstein of Tennessee Tech, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. The junior also claimed a win on the number-one doubles court, teaming with fellow 49er Moritz Bernhoerster, to capture an 8-3 win over Duquesne. The Paris, France native is 3-0 in singles play, all at number-one, against Atlantic 10 Conference opponents. He has 11 singles wins overall, including seven at number one this season. The award was the first for a Charlotte men's tennis performer in 2011. |
