Forrest Edwards, who has won seven of his last 10 matches, leads the team in singles wins with 19. Alex Calott and Jordi Massalle Ferrer, who has won 11 of his last 13 matches, have each tallied 18 singles wins. Paul Cisti, who has won seven straight matches, has 14 singles wins. Jack Williams has 12 singles wins this season.
The doubles team of Massalle Ferrer and Kamil Khalil have spent time this season in the ITA National rankings. They have posted a 12-1 record so far this year. The doubles team of Cisti and Edwards have an 8-3 record this season.
Friday’s match will mark the 20th meeting between Charlotte and UNC Wilmington. The 49ers have won 17 of the previous 19 meetings. Charlotte defeated UNC Wilmington, 4-3, in their last meeting which came in Charlotte, March 17, 2007.
