49ers Cruises Past Davidson On The Road

Davidson, NC – Behind eight singles and doubles victories, the Charlotte 49ers (10-5) cruised past Davidson (5-14), 7-0, on the road.

The 49ers won two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. At number one doubles, Charlotte’s Kamil Khalil and Jordi Massalle Ferrer improved to 11-1 on the season with an 8-6 win over Davidson’s Connor Evins and Robert Lighbourn. At number two doubles, Charlotte’s Forrest Edwards and Paul Cisti won their eighth match of the season with an 8-6 win over Davidson’s Evan Watkins and Ethan Kallick. At number three doubles, Charlotte’s Alex Calott and Jack Williams lost to Davidson’s Ricky Saad and Alex Howard, 8-4.

Charlotte won all six singles matches to claim the overall victory. At number one singles, Charlotte’s Edwards improved to 19-6 on the season with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Davidson’s Lightbourn. At number two singles, Charlotte’s Khalil defeated Davidson’s Evins, 6-4, 6-0. At number three singles, Charlotte’s Massalle Ferrer improved to 17-6 on the season with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Davidson’s Kallick. At number four singles, Charlotte’s Calott won his 18th match of the season with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Davidson’s J.B. Gough. At number five singles, Charlotte’s Williams won his 11th match of the season with a 6-4, 7-6 win over Davidson’s Watkins. At number six singles, Charlotte’s Cisti won his sixth straight match for his 13th victory of the season with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Davidson’s Saad.

Charlotte returns to action when they play Presbyterian on the road, Tuesday, April 8 at 2:30 pm.
