Charlotte, NC – The Charlotte 49ers (9-5) play cross-county rival Davidson (5-13) on the road, Thursday, April 3 at 3 pm. Charlotte coach Billy Boykin is a 2001 Davidson graduate. He was a team captain at Davidson in 1999.

Charlotte enters the Davidson match having won four of their last six matches.

Forrest Edwards leads the team in singles wins with 18. Alex Calott has 17 singles wins. Jordi Massalle Ferrer, who has won nine of his last 11 matches, has tallied 16 singles wins this season. Paul Cisti, who has won five straight matches, has 12 singles wins. Jack Williams has 10 singles wins this season.

The doubles team of Massalle Ferrer and Kamil Khalil have spent time this season in the ITA National rankings. They have posted a 10-1 record so far this year.

Thursday’s match will mark the 25th meeting between Charlotte and Davidson, who leads the all-time series 21-13. Charlotte defeated Davidson, 5-2, at home in their last meeting, February 23, 2012. Nate Shanok, Williams, Khalil and Cisti all posted singles wins in that match.
