The 49ers softball team held a youth clinic to help young players develop basic sofball skills.
HARRISBURG, N.C. - The 49ers softball
team held a youth clinic Tuesday afternoon at Stallings Field in Harrisburg,
N.C. The hour-long clinic, which was designed to teach elementary school girls
the basics of softball, featured sessions on hitting, pitching and defensive
skills. Head coach Aimee DeVos and the rest of the 49ers coaching staff and players
provided individual and group instruction for the girls, many of whom
participate on local youth teams.
The kids rotated between three different stations, each of which focused on a different softball skill. Working on their pitching, fielding and throwing skills, the girls also had the opportunity to practice hitting and work on the mechanics of their swing. This was one of several community service events the 49ers participate in throughout the year. |
