Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte softball squad faces its final conference tests of the season on the road in Dayton, Ohio, taking on the Dayton Flyers in a Saturday doubleheader at noon and 2 p.m.
Charlotte sits in fifth place in the conference with a 9-5 record, while Dayton is 10-7 and in sixth place in the Atlantic 10. Charlotte is coming off a split with Saint Bonaventure on Friday. Senior Katy Hackett threw her second one-hitter in as many weeks to down the Bonnies, 1-0, in game one. Saint Bonaventure got the better of Charlotte in a rain-shortened game two, downing the Niners, 6-3, in six innings. Freshman Chelsea Ingersoll finished 2-3 with a run and an RBI, while senior Tenaya Tucker hit her 43rd career double, tying the Antelope, Calif., product for second all-time in Charlotte history.
