Niners wrap up NCAA East Preliminary

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte track and field team participated in three events on the final day of the NCAA East Preliminary Championship, Saturday afternoon on the campus of N.C. A&T State University,

The men’s 4x100m relay team of John Osborne, LeRoy Rouse, Anthony Bynum, and Khyran Shank finished 13th with a school record time of 40.00.

Trey McRae finished 25th in the high jump with a leap of 6’10.75.

Freshman Anthony Campbell participated in the triple jump but was unable to place due to fouls.

Senior Jake Deaton was Charlotte’s only athlete who qualified for the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championship in Eugene, Ore. held June 5-8. Deaton finished 11th in the discus throw with a toss of 179’10 to advance.
