Charlotte, NC – Charlotte 49ers track and field performer Coye Still was one of fifteen recipients of Conference USA’s Jim Castaneda Postgraduate Scholarship for 2013-14. The Jim Castaneda Postgraduate Scholarship is a $4,000 scholarship.
This past April Still received the Provost’s Athletic Academic Achievement Honor from UNC Charlotte Provost Dr. Joan Lorden; it is given to a student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom while bringing recognition to the University through his or her performance as a Charlotte 49ers athlete.
Still just finished his four-year career was a member 49ers Track and Field. Last month, Still was named to the Conference USA Track and Field All-Academic team.
During his career, Still was a part of three Atlantic 10 men’s team championships. During the 2012 indoor season, Still was named to the A10 Academic All-Conference list. In 2013, Still was selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 First Team honoree. During his junior campaign, Still qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Championship in the long jump. Still won an individual A-10 Championship, winning the long jump event with career best leap of 24’ 2.5”. That mark is sixth best in program history. Still has earned the Hugh McEniry Award each year he was eligible as one of the male student-athlete's with the highest cumulative GPA. He maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout his college career.
Still graduated last month from UNC Charlotte with a degree in History. He minored in Psychology, Philosophy and American Studies.
