|T&F Wrap up at Florida and Colonial Relays|
Gainesville, Fla.- The Charlotte 49ers wrapped up the weekend competing at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla. and the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va.
The Florida Relays was highlighted by the men's 4x400 meter relay team breaking the school record in the event running the relay in 3:09.17. The men's 4x400 meter relay team was comprised of Anthony Bynum, Christopher Boyd, Brian Hamilton and Chris Tate. The quartet sat at number 10 overall on the all-time list for Charlotte coming into the season eclipising that mark during the 2013 season. The top mark in the event for Charlotte was set back in 2003 with a time of 3:09.50.
Kevin Calhoun, who set the indoor pole vault record during the indoor season, improved on his career best in the event by setting the outdoor pole vault record clearing 16' 2.75" (4.95m).
Michael Tamayo placed 12th in the men's 800 meter finishing the event in 1:52.40.
Morgan Richards picked up a top ten finish in the 1500 meter seeded event placing tenth overall with a time of 4:31.95 at the Colonial Relays. Carolina Casin-Silva finished fourth overall in the women's 1500 meter run unseeded. Casin-Silva completed the event in 4:50.43.
Kristen Stout finished in the top spot in the 5000m with a time of 17:50. Kim Spano placed her name in the Charlotte record books finishing third in the women's 10K. Spano sits in eighth on the Charlotte all-time list with a time of 36:45.59 in the event.
The women's 4x800 meter relay team placed seventh overall with a time of 9:08.90. Taylor Carcella, Morgan Richards, Tianna McHenry and Casin-Silva competed in the event. Carl Walton, Getisso Dentamo, Nick Rotz and Tamayo placed sixth in the men's 4x800m relay finishing the relay in 7:40.14.
Charlotte will head to Greenville, N.C. to compete in the East Carolina Invitational April 11-12.
