CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte track and field team has
announced its 2012-13 schedule, released on Wednesday afternoon.
The 49ers kickoff their indoor season on Dec. 1 at the
Orange & Purple Winter Classic, hosted by Clemson. Charlotte will return
back to action in 2013 as it travels to Birmingham, Alabama for the UAB Blazer
Invitational, Jan. 10-11. The Niners conclude January with two consecutive meets
at Virginia Tech.
Charlotte will head to Winston-Salem for the JDL Hilton
Invitational on Feb. 1-2, followed by the Tiger Paw Invitational, hosted by
Clemson on Feb. 8-9. The Atlantic 10 Championship will take place on Feb. 16-17
and will be hosted by Rhode Island.
The indoor season will conclude with three meets before the
NCAA Indoor Championship in Fayetteville, Arkansas on March 8-9.
Charlotte opens the outdoor season with a home meet, the
49er Classic on March 14-16 at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center. After a
six meet stretch, the Niners will return home for the Charlotte Invitational on
April 18-19. The 49ers will also host the
2013 A-10 Championship on May 4-5.
The Niners will have three meets to prepare and qualify for
the NCAA East Preliminary on May 23-25 in Greensboro, N.C. The University of
Oregon will host the NCAA Championship
on June 5-8.
