HIGH POINT, N.C. – Four members of the Charlotte women’s soccer Conference USA East Division-title winning team have earned All-North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) honors, it was announced Monday afternoon by the state organization. The four in a single year match the high for the program, equaling the 2005 and 2008 seasons as the best since the award started in 2003.

Junior Amanda Jones was the lone selection on the First Team, matching her 2012 accolade. She becomes the seventh different 49ers player to earn multiple plaudits from the state-wide group and the first since Whitney Weinraub added her third in 2010.

Jones, an All-Conference USA Second Team and All-Conference USA Tournament Team choice, finished 2013 as Charlotte’s leading offensive threat with a career campaign of 10 goals, including four game winners, and 23 points as the 49ers clinched the league’s East Division in their first season back in the conference. She added career-best numbers of 57 shots, including 31 on goal, and was one of two players to start all 20 matches.

During the season, Jones was selected to the Aug. 27 TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week and as the Oct. 7 Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.

Three first-time All-NCCSIA honorees were picked to represent Charlotte on the Second Team, including sophomores Maddie Kiebel and Monica Trickett, along with senior Alex Kubrick.

Kiebel led the squad with six assists and finished second behind Jones with 10 points. She also ranked second on the squad with 36 shots, 17 of which were on goal, and started 18 of the 19 matches in which she played. She scored her lone game winner in the Conference USA opener at FIU Sept. 27, helping the Niners secure a 2-0 road victory.

Trickett was also a part of the All-Conference USA Second Team and All-Conference USA Tournament Team with Jones. She also matched Jones as the only two players to start all 20 matches and was appointed a mid-season captain following injuries to teammates.

As a defender, she was not heavily involved offensively but did tally an assist on the game-winning goal in the non-conference home triumph over Gardner-Webb Aug. 27. She was a part of a defensive unit that posted eight shutouts and registered a cumulative 1.04 goals-against average. One-half of the clean sheets came against C-USA competition.

Kubrick concluded her career as one of the best goalkeepers in program history and opened her final campaign with an Aug. 26 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week nod. She started all 16 matches in which she played between the pipes, garnering five shutouts with a 0.97 goals-against average and 63 saves.

Her career concluded in the Conference USA Championships semifinals with all-time rankings of second for goals-against average (1.07), third for shutouts (17) and wins (28) and four for saves (209).

The 49ers finished 2013 with an 11-7-2 record, including a 7-2-1 mark defending Transamerica Field. Charlotte was 5-3-2 in Conference USA, collecting 17 points to win the division crown by a point over out-going East Carolina.
