T&F tune-up before C-USA Indoor Championships

Charlotte, N.C.-The Charlotte track and field team heads back to Blacksburg, Va. in the final meet of the indoor season before heading to Birmingham, Ala. for the 2014 Conference USA Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22.

Charlotte has faired well in Blacksburg, Va. running some of the fastest times of the season at the Rector Field House.

Anthony Bynum, LeRoy Rouse and John Osborne look to lead the way for the men in the 60m.  Bynum and Rouse have been a threat in the 200m and 300m as well.

Alvonna Blakney and Juanita Leto look to put in fast times in the 60m hurdles heading into the indoor championships.

Joann Blakney will look to get back into form in the 60m dash staying around 7.47 the past couple meets.  Blakney's season/career best is 7.37, good for 24th in the nation.  

Pole Vaulter Kevin Calhoun will look to improve upon his school record breaking performance last week in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Duke, Florida State, N.C. State and Virginia Tech will be in attendance as well as Division II power St. Augustine's.  St. Augustine's swept the CIAA Indoor Conference championships this week.

The Virginia Tech Challenge will begin at 5 pm on Friday, Feb. 21.  Day two's action will begin at 11 am and will conclude around 4 pm on Saturday, Feb. 22.
