Assistant Coach Nicole Miller enters her second season with the Niners after helping accomplish a 17-win season in 2014 and first conference tournament berth in four years. Charlotte achieved their 17 wins marking the first time since 2006 and put together a season-high four-match win streak to end the regular season helping clinch the #8 seed in the Conference USA Tournament.

Primarily in charge of blocking and middles, Coach Miller put up some of their best offensive and defensive numbers in recent history. Charlotte posted 73 solo blocks in 2014 which was the most since 99 in 2003 while their 376 block assists and 449 total blocks were the most since the Niners last tournament berth in 2010. Continuing the defensive trend, Charlotte popped up 2,154 digs in 2014 which was the fourth-most in school history and most since 2006.

Under the aid of Miller, a pair of tournament MVP honors were earned by Semen Sen at the Charlotte Invitational and Savannah Gaster at the North Florida/Jacksonville Invitational. Gaster would post a career year in all major categories while freshmen Sen and Marshae Bradbury got their careers off to solid starts in 2014.

Yilmaz announced the hiring of Nicole Miller as an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator on February 19, 2014. Miller, who played collegiately at South Carolina, had coached at Cincinnati, Houston and Mississippi over the previous six years with experience as a recruiting coordinator

Prior to Charlotte, Miller coached at Cincinnati for two years following a two-year stint at Houston. She began her college coaching career as a graduate assistant at Mississippi in 2008 and 2009. She got her coaching start as head coach of the A5 Mizuno Volleyball Club from 2006-08.

At both Cincinnati and Houston, Miller served as recruiting coordinator and assisted with practice planning and game preparation among her varied duties and responsibilities. She built networks of high school and club coaching contacts and strengthened the relationship between alumni and the program while cultivating student-athlete relationships. At Houston, the Cougars posted a pair of 19-win seasons and finished third in Conference USA play in 2010.

A 2006 graduate of South Carolina, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics with a minor in Business Management. She served as team captain for the Gamecocks for three seasons and was named to the Academic Honor Roll in 2004.
