The Charlotte 49ers men’s soccer team, who are ranked 23rd in the preseason NSCAA/Continental Tire Coaches Poll, play Davidson on the road in their final exhibition game, Saturday, August 23 at 7 pm.

Charlotte returns 15 letterwinners from last season’s Conference USA Tournament Champion and NCAA Tournament participant squad. The 49ers recorded a 12-6-3 record last season.

Kevin Langan, who is entering his third season as head coach, welcomes back stalwarts Kyle Parker, Luke Waechter, Brandt Bronico, David Mayer and Biko Bradnock-Brennan. Parker was a preseason All-Conference USA selection. Parker, who earned third-team All-Conference USA honors, shared the Conference USA Golden Boot Award last season. Waechter and Bronico earned Conference USA All-Freshman team honors.

Charlotte also returns mainstays Nick Barnhorst, Dominic Bonilla, Hans Honer and Monbo Bokar.

Charlotte defeated UNC Asheville, 7-0, on the road in their first exhibition game, August 20. Bronico and Parker each scored two goals. Bokar, Bonilla and newcomer Zhuvonte Wilson scored the 49ers other three goals. Barnhorst recorded two assists in the game.

The 49ers begin the regular-season at Transamerica Field against Radford, August 31 at 6 pm.
