Colby Lewis is in his first season as Associate Director of Basketball Operations. He joined the coaching staff after spending last season as a graduate manager with the 49ers men’s basketball program.

A fan favorite during his four-year career at Charlotte, Lewis played for the 49ers from 2009-13. He saw action in a career-high 17 games as a sophomore in 2011. As a senior, Lewis helped the 49ers win 21 games while capturing the Great Alaska Shootout title and earning a berth in the NIT.
"I would like to thank Coach Major and the Charlotte staff for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of this program as a player, Graduate Manager, and now as the Associate Director of Basketball Operations,” Lewis said. “It is a dream come true to continue my career here at Charlotte, a place that is very special to me. I am eager to work and look forward to contributing to the program."
His primary responsibilities as associate director of basketball operations are coordinating team travel, managing the team budget, organizing recruiting visits, overseeing the recruiting database and compliance paperwork, assists with the organization of the basketball team's former player and manager reunion and assists with Alan Major camps.
The Statesville, North Carolina native earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from UNC Charlotte, December 2012. In the summer of 2014, he earned a Master’s of Business Administration from UNC Charlotte.
