|Volleyball Picked 12th in Preseason C-USA Poll|
IRVING, Texas – Charlotte volleyball has been picked to finish 12th in the 2014 Conference USA preseason poll as voted on by the league’s 13 head coaches. Defending C-USA regular-season and tournament champion UTSA has been tabbed as the favorite.
Newcomer WKU was selected second, placing three student-athletes on the preseason all-conference team, including preseason Player of the Year Noelle Langenkamp. The Hilltoppers won the 2013 Sun Belt regular season at 17-1 and finished 27-6 overall. Rice ranked third, followed by North Texas in fourth and Southern Miss and UAB tied for fifth place.
The new era of Charlotte volleyball will begin on August 29th as the Niners host the first of two days of the 49er Invitational. Charlotte will take on Morgan State and UNC Greensboro on day one before wrapping up with ETSU and Sacramento State on August 30th. Southern Miss will serve as host to the 2014 Conference USA Volleyball Championship, which will take place Nov. 21-23. The top eight teams will qualify for the single-elimination tournament.
