CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
The Charlotte women’s soccer program, which captured the Conference USA East Division title in 2013, has announced its upcoming slate of summer camps to be held on the on-campus facilities. The 49ers will play host to two camps in June before adding another three to the docket in July.
The busy summer will open June 16-20 with the first Junior Niner Camp. The camp is designed as a perfect environment for the young, developing player or first-time player. It is ideal for those aged 4-12. Because this camp is so popular and other scheduling conflicts, number demand has created a second Junior Niner Camp. The second weekly run of this camp will be July 21-25.
The half-day session, in which is the only camp 4-year olds may participate, is $110, while the full day camps are $195. A $15 processing fee will be applied to any online registrations. Families may receive a discount of $20 for each additional player. Much of the camp will be focused on the understanding and improving basic technique through exercises, small-sided games and fun group activities.
Just a week after the first Junior Niner Camp, June 22-25, a Junior Elite Camp will be held for ages 9-13 who wish to take their game to the next level in a fun and spirited environment. The training sessions will develop and enhance individual skills and techniques, while teaching basic game tactics and positional play. Current staff and team members, along with college, club and high school coaches will be on hand to instruct and demonstrate the many qualities needed to be successful at the next level.
Players may attend in a variety of ways, including a commuter rate of $370 or residential for $100 more. In both cases, the $15 processing fee applies for online registrations and the $20 family discount for each additional player also is in effect.
A team interested in coming receives a discount for groups of eight or more enrolling together. Each camper will receive $50 off if all the applications received in the same envelope. Teams have the option of the residential or commuter, and may stay together during practice and play, if requested.
July 20-23 features the Senior Elite Camp, which is specifically designed for the advanced female soccer player who is looking to play and compete at the collegiate level. Sessions are geared toward refining technical skills and tactical awareness for improvement as both an individual and team player. The camp boasts a variety of technical/tactical drills, small-sided games and 11v11 competitions all designed to challenge and develop players for the next level.
The camp, ideal for players ranging in age from 12-16, will be instructed by current Charlotte women’s soccer staff members, current and former players and a multitude of other college coaches throughout the week.
The prices remain the same as the Junior Elite Camp with all discounts also in-force.
Lastly, the 49ers will play host to the Summer College ID Showcase July 23-24. This camp is specifically designed for individuals who have goals and aspirations to play collegiate soccer. It will identify competitive collegiate-level players, teach players the demand of competing at the NCAA level, provide a high-quality training from a nationally-competitive program and give an in-depth look at all aspects of the Charlotte women’s soccer program.
The registration of this camp is $150 for online with a $15 registration fee.
