Track's Coye Still Receives Provost Honor

At the April awards reception, Coye Still IV received the Provost’s Athletic Academic Achievement Honor from UNC Charlotte Provost Dr. Joan Lorden; it is given to a student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom while bringing recognition to the University through his or her performance as a Charlotte 49ers athlete.

Coye Still is a senior member of the 49ers Track and Field program from Harrisburg, N.C.  Still was a part of three Atlantic 10 men’s team championships.  During the 2012 indoor season, Still was named to the A10 Academic All-Conference list.  In 2013, Still was selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 First Team honoree.  During his junior campaign, Still qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Championship in the long jump.  Still won an individual A10 Championship, winning the long jump event with career best leap of 24’ 2.5”.  That mark is sixth best in program history. Still has earned the Hugh McEniry Award each year he was eligible as one of the male student-athlete's with the highest cumulative GPA. He has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout his college career. The History major will graduate in May of 2014 with minors in Psychology, Philosophy and American Studies.
