CHARLOTTE, N.C.- As the rest of the Conference USA winds down league play, Charlotte welcomes in-state rival North Carolina State to town for the regular season doubleheader finale as the Niners celebrate senior day for Chelsea Ingersoll.
Chelsea Ingersoll (Charlotte/ Butler HS) will play in her final games as a 49er on Saturday May 3rd against the Wolfpack. Ingersoll has appeared in 176 games for the green and white with 161 starts. The Charlotte native has amassed a .251 batting average with 21 doubles, 13 home runs, 63 RBI and drawn 61 walks.
The senior stamps her mark on the program being ranked in the top ten in program history for home runs and walks in her career. In the field, the catcher/first basemen, is ranked sixth in program history in fielding percentage committing only five errors with a .991 fielding percentage in her playing career. Ingersoll's 10 home runs, .600 slugging percentage and .452 on base percentage rank in the top 10 in a single season.
Chelsea Ingersoll holds the record for most putouts in a single game (18) against La Salle in 2013. During that contest she gave the 49ers the victory hitting her first career grand slam in the top of the sixth inning to give the Niners an 8-4 win.
First pitch is scheduled for 3 pm with senior day festivities in between games.
