CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Due to overnight showers continuing throughout and into Saturday afternoon, the Conference USA baseball series-finale between Charlotte and Tulane has officially been cancelled. Rain totals were approaching two inches on Saturday making Phillips Field at Robert and Mariam Hayes stadium completely unplayable.
The contest will not be made up as both teams will lose the game completely marking the second league tilt for Tulane lost and the first for Charlotte. The Green Wave lost a C-USA game earlier in the year due to bad weather at Marshall. This becomes the 13th contest for the Niners affected by weather and unplayable field conditions.
Charlotte will be back in action this Tuesday and Wednesday playing in a home-and-home series with Wake Forest. The first matchup Tuesday will be in Winston-Salem followed by the Demon Deacons making the return trip on Wednesday. The Niners will get back into Conference USA action heading to UTSA in San Antonio next weekend.
