Top 25 Match-up vs. FIU Baseball Rained Out

Charlotte, N.C.- For the sixth time this season, bad weather has forced a postponed baseball game on the 2014 Charlotte 49ers schedule.  Friday's Conference USA series-opener with #21 Florida International has been postponed to Saturday.  Saturday will now become Charlotte's first doubleheader of the year with game one starting at the original time of 1:00 p.m.  Game two will follow at approximately 4:00 p.m.

The 49ers saw the first four games of the season with Youngstown State and Virginia Tech snowed out and had the Wake Forest contest scheduled for Tuesday postponed due to rain.  A mixture or rain, freezing rain, sleet and a few snowflakes blanketed the Carolinas late Thursday night and continued through the mid-morning hours.

Charlotte will now have Friday's starter RHP Ryan Butler (1-0, 1.50) start game one on Saturday and will stick with RHP Corey Roberts (0-1, 0.63) for game two.  FIU's probable starters will be RHP Mike Franco (2-0, 1.65) in the series opener followed by RHP Mike Ellis (2-1, 1.12) in game two.

Tickets for Saturday's doubleheader are available by calling the 49er ticket office (704-687-4949).  Live stats and Video will be provided through along with live, in-game updates through @Charlotte49ers and @49erGameDay.
