Baseball Postpones Tuesday vs. Wake Forest

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Tuesday afternoon’s baseball contest between Wake Forest and Charlotte at Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium has been postponed due to weather. A forecasted combination of rain, wintry mix and wind chills below the freezing mark throughout late Tuesday afternoon pushes the contest to Wednesday, April 23rd at 6:00 p.m.

The new home date in April now becomes the back end of a home-and-home series with the Demon Deacons. Charlotte is already slated to make the trip to Winston-Salem on Tuesday, April 25th with first pitch also at 6:00 p.m. The second contest against Wake Forest will break up what was a four-game road trip before the Niners head west to San Antonio, Texas for a Conference USA weekend series with UTSA.

Charlotte will now await the arrival of UNC Asheville on Wednesday for a 3:00 p.m. start time with the Bulldogs. UNC Asheville is slated to host N.C. Central at 3:00 p.m. weather-permitting. Wednesday’s contest is one of three games added to the 2014 slate after opening weekend with Youngstown State and Virginia Tech was snowed out.
