Chelsea Ingersoll, who was selected on the 2014 C-USA All-Conference Team, finished second on the team hitting .353 with 49 hits. Ingersoll led the team with 10 home runs and a slugging percentage of .604. Ingersoll’s home runs and on base percentage (.455) totals rank tied for fourth in a season.
Jessica Plemmons grabbed a spot on the College Sports Madness squad after a superb freshman year. The outfielder used a .350 batting average to put her name into to freshman record book sitting at fifth best. Plemmons ranks second in doubles in a freshman season after leading the team last season with 14.
Both Ingersoll and Plemmons contributed 31 RBI apiece last season leading all returners.
The 49ers open the season on the road against Gardner-Webb, Feb. 8, for a double-header in Boiling Springs, N.C. Last season the Niners defeated the Runnin’ Bulldogs twice in Charlotte.
