49ers Fall On The Road At Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Three 49ers scored in double figures, but Charlotte (7-3) lost on the road at ACC foe Florida State (7-3), 106-62.

Shawn Lester recorded his ninth double-figure scoring game of the season with 16 points off the bench. He also grabbed five rebounds. Pierria Henry recorded his seventh double-figure scoring game of the season with 13 points. Willie Clayton recorded his ninth double-figure scoring game with 11 points. Terrence Williams scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds. Mike Thorne grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Clayton grabbed six rebounds.

Ben Cherry began the game with a three-pointer from the baseline. Then, Florida State went on a 20-2 run over the next seven minutes taking control of the game. The 49ers cut Florida State’s lead to 39-21 when Cherry knocked down another three at the 3:32 mark but that would be as close as the 49ers would get the rest of the game.

Charlotte freshman Cameron Blakley scored his first two career points with two free throws with 8:32 left in the second half.

Charlotte returns to Halton Arena to play USC Upstate, Saturday, December 21 at 7 pm.
