49ers Return To C-USA Play At Florida Atlantic

The Charlotte 49ers (6-5-3. C-USA: 1-3-2) return to Conference USA action when they play Florida Atlantic (6-4-2, C-USA: 1-4-1) on the road, Wednesday, October 30 at 7 pm.

Kyle Parker, who earned numerous team of the week honor as well as C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honors this week, leads the team in goals with six after scoring two goals in the 49ers win over 14th-ranked Clemson last week. Giuseppe Gentile is second on the team with five goals. Aidan Kirkbride and Luke Waechter are tied for third on the team with three goals apiece. Will Mayhew, who assisted on a goal in the 49ers win over Clemson, leads the team with four assists. Gentile, Waechter and David Mayer are tied for second on the team with three assists apiece. Parker, Tyler Gibson and Brandt Bronico each have two assists.

The 49ers defense led by goalkeeper Klay Davis and defenders Waechter, Mayer, Thomas Allen, Anthony Perez, Nick Barnhorst and Biko Bradnock-Brennan have recorded six shutouts this season.

Wednesday’s game will mark the second-ever meeting between Charlotte and Florida Atlantic. The 49ers lost to Florida Atlantic, 4-1, in their only other meeting which came in the USF/AmeriSuites Invitational in Tampa, Florida, September 14, 2003.
