Charlotte 49ers junior guard Pierria Henry was named to CBSSports.com’s top fifteen least appreciated players in college basketball list by Jon Rothstein. Henry is the 49ers leading returner scorer after averaging 10.3 points per game last season. Last season, Henry also averaged 5.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Henry played an integral in helping the 49ers win 21 games and reach the postseason play for the time since 2008 with a trip to the NIT.
The past two seasons, Henry has ranked among the nation’s leaders in steals. Last year, he dished out 122 assists and recorded 84 steals.
Henry was named to the 2013 Atlantic 10 All-Defensive team. Last year, he earned Great Alaska Shootout Most Outstanding Player honors after helping the 49ers capture the Great Alaska Shootout title. As a freshman in 2012, he was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team.
Henry and the rest of the Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball begin the season with an exhibition game in Halton Arena against Wingate, Saturday, November 2 at 4:30 pm. The 49ers begin the regular-season in Halton Arena against ETSU, Friday, November 8 at 7:30 pm.
