CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team looks to extend its win streak of four when it embarks on a five-match homestand, starting at 2:30 p.m. Monday by playing host to Appalachian State at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex. The five matches will cover a two-week span and leaves the Niners with just two home matches the rest of the spring when it concludes.

The 49ers are coming off a thrilling, 4-3, triumph at East Carolina Friday afternoon to improve to 6-1 on the campaign. Charlotte dropped the doubles point for the first time in four tries but rallied to clinch the win by picking up four singles victories. Freshman Tyler Baker locked up the win with a three-set decision in her No. 4 match, completing the comeback.

The four-match winning streak began with a pair of home victories, where the Niners are 4-0 in dual match action.

A pair of players has reached double-digit singles wins with 10 apiece. Seniors Anna Ekelund and Iveta Guneva have set the pace but the balanced lineup features five of the six regulars owning a .500 record or above.

In doubles, Ekelund and sophomore Lisa Grosselius picked up the team's lone win Friday to push their 49ers-leading total to 11, including 6-1 in dual matches, while playing at the No. 1 position.

The Mountaineers are 4-1 this season but will play host to North Carolina Central Sunday afternoon before making the trek down the mountain. Appalachian State had won its last three contests before Sunday's tilt.

Ellie Linsell is 4-0 at the top singles slot in dual match action, while her pairing with Mackenzie LaSure as ASU's top doubles tandem is 3-1 in doubles play.
