In one of the more entertaining matches of the season, Charlotte found itself in a great match against a strong team, but Charlotte couldn't muster enough points in the finishing serves in a 3-1 loss (25-13, 25-27, 25-22, 25-23) Saturday night to finish the Hilton University 49er Invitational at Halton Arena. The 49ers finish the day with a split in two matches and an overall record of 8-4 through non-conference play. Towson is now 11-3 on the year.

Junior Amanda Videmsek (Highland Heights, Ohio / Beaumont School) led all players with 18 kills, while a trio of Towson Tigers had 11 kills each.

Charlotte could not match the speed of Towson in the first set, with the Tigers getting up 6-1 early and cruising to the 12-point opening set win.
