The Charlotte 49ers golf team, which has posted five Top 5 finishes this year, is chasing its sixth at Iowa's Hawkeye-Great Entertainment Invitational, Apr. 14-15, at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City.

Charlotte finished second in the event, last year, behind co-medalist Andy Sajevic.  Sajevic, a junior, has missed the spring season with injury but three other 49ers from last year's runner-up team will be in Charlotte's lineup this weekend.

Charlotte's lineup includes seniors Olafur Loftsson, Tyler Mitchell, Paul Ferrier and Rafael Guerrero as well as standout freshman Raoul Menard.  Loftsson, Ferrier and Guerrero were all part of last year's runner up squad at Iowa, with Guerrero posting a sixth-place finish.

The 49ers placed fourth at the Irish Creek Collegiate in their last outing and are looking for their first back-to-back top 5 finishes of the season. 

Ferrier currently leads the 49ers with a 72.74 stroke average, followed by Loftsson at 73.00. 

Loftsson (6th), Mitchell (T17th) and Ferrier (24th) all posted top 25 finishes at Irish Creek, Mar 31-Apr. 1.  Loftsson was named the A-10 Player of the Week for his performance while Menard, who tied for 29th, earned his third A-10 Rookie of the Week honor.
