Baseball and Softball Rained Out Sunday

Rain has canceled Sunday's home baseball and softball events, school officials announced Sunday morning.

The Charlotte Softball Classic has declared Kansas the winner, after their 4-0 sweep through the field on Friday and Saturday. An All-Tournament team will be named on Monday.

Baseball swept through its series with Saint Peter's earning a 3-0 start to the season, Game four is canceled and will not be made up. Saint Peter's will return home, only to return to North Carolina in a doubleheader next Saturday at UNC Asheville.

Charlotte softball hosts the Charlotte Invitational next weekend, starting with games against Boston College at noon, followed by Towson at 2 p.m.

Charlotte baseball will hit the road for the first time this season with a Tuewday afternoon contest at High Point, beginning at 4 p.m. The 49ers will return home to start a three-game weekend series against Toledo. Game one is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.
