CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Outfielder Lindsey Holloman was named Madness Atlantic 10 Softball Player of the Week by College Sports Madness for games played through March 4-10.
The senior from Suffolk, Va. appeared in all five of Charlotte’s game last week. The Niners who improved to 11-7 overall, captured wins over Gardner-Webb and Elon and fell to Morehead State and Elon in the first game of a doubleheader.
She led the team in runs last week with five and batted .556. She also recorded five hits which included a double and a three-run homer. After trailing 2-1 to Gardner-Webb, Charlotte took a 7-2 lead in the fifth inning where it recorded four of its six hits. Holloman highlighted the rally with her second career homer over the centerfield fence to give Charlotte the 7-2 lead. Ironically, Holloman’s first home run was recorded in 2010 against Gardner-Webb.
She also recorded her first multiple hit game of the season in game two against GWU. She recorded one of Charlotte’s six hits in the 9-1 loss to MSU.
Holloman finished with five RBIs, a team-high nine total bases and slugging percentage (1.000).
Charlotte will travel to Campbell on Wednesday, March 13 for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
