CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Due to the recent inclement
weather in the Carolinas Friday and early Saturday, the Charlotte women's
tennis match scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday against North Carolina Central has
been postponed. The weather affected travel for what was slated to be the 49ers'
home opener at Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
The two teams have not set a rescheduled date at this time; however, they plan
to talk early in the coming week to find a mutual opening on the calendar.
It marks the second-straight scheduled match postponed due to weather for the
Niners. The program was slated to open the campaign Friday versus Radford in
Davidson, N.C., but again, it was not played due to the travel conditions.
Charlotte will now attempt to begin the 2013 slate at 2:30 p.m., at USC Upstate
in Spartanburg, S.C. The home opener is now set for 1 p.m. next Saturday,
February 2, against Campbell.
