|Williams Wins But 49ers Fall On Road|
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Jack Williams won his number one singles match, but the Charlotte 49ers (2-2) fell on the road at #66 Wake Forest (2-0), 6-1.
"We came out firing in doubles action," Charlotte coach Billy Boykin said. "Our energy was great and it came down to the wire on every court. From a singles standpoint, I thought we were a little flat out there today. We competed hard and ran well, but we committed too many unforced errors and didn't take care of our service games as well as we're capable of doing. Still, Wake Forest is a talented team and they put the pressure on us from the get go - I give credit to them for a strong overall performance. Jack Williams was great for us. He wouldn't go away at number one singles and made some remarkable plays at the end of his match to win at the top."
