CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A 10-day break due to final exams and the end of the fall semester will come to a close for the Charlotte 49ers women's basketball team Tuesday, as it travels to Greensboro, N.C., to face North Carolina A&T at 6 p.m., inside the Corbett Sports Center.

The Niners last played Dec. 8 when they picked up an 81-73 victory over Stetson inside Halton Arena. Senior Jennifer Hailey posted her seventh double-double in eight games this season with 19 points and 13 rebounds to lift Charlotte's record to 6-2. Classmate Amanda Dowe added a double-double of her own, her fourth this season, with 10 points and 12 boards.

Sophomore Hillary Sigmon chipped in a career-best 19 points, featuring three 3-pointers, and senior Jai Forney tallied 16 as the 49ers improved to 3-2 on their home court.

Rounding out the productive effort from the starting five was junior Ny Hammonds, who distributed a career-high tying 10 assists for the second time in a week. She continues to lead the country in assists per game with her 7.6 average for the fourth-straight week in the national statistics released Monday.

On the season, Hailey and Dowe both average a double-double. Hailey's 14.9 points and 12.1 rebounds edge out the 12.5 and 10.8 respective averages of her fellow post.

North Carolina A&T brings a 5-3 ledger, including a perfect 3-0 home mark, into Tuesday's matchup. The Aggies have won two straight and five of their last six, with the lone setback coming at Richmond Nov. 28. NCA&T traveled to Lynchburg, Va., and earned a 60-56 triumph over Liberty Saturday.

A low-scoring team that scores nearly 14 fewer points per game than the 49ers, North Carolina A&T is led by Amber Calvin's 12.1 average. JaQuayla Berry is next with 9.8 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per contest for head coach Tarrell Robinson's squad.

Although the Aggies have not scored many points, their defense has been just as stout, surrendering just 54.0 points per game through their first eight contests. Six of the seven opponents have tallied less than 60 points, including a season-low 27 by North Carolina Central Dec. 1 in the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference meeting for either school.

Charlotte leads the all-time series 23-7 after picking up an 87-63 victory at home last season. Dowe topped the Niners with 19 points and 11 rebounds in last year's meeting, while Hailey also had a double-double of 16 points and 10 caroms.
