WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team concluded competition at the Wake Forest Invitational Sunday with just one match being contested. Other possible matchups were not played during the day, as only main draws were completed.

The lone 49ers in action on the tournament's final day were the doubles duo of Natsuko Takayanagi and Alexandra Zinn. The tandem dropped an 8-4 decision to Louisville's Alex Tachovsky and Manuela Velasquez in the B flight championship to place second and record the top Charlotte finish of the event. It capped a 3-1 record over the course of the weekend for the 49er pairing.

With no other matches on the day, it was an early return back to the Queen City for the squad.

The third fall tournament is next on the docket, as the program returns to its home courts at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex to play host to the Charlotte 49er Invitational Friday and Saturday.
