Charlotte 49ers junior speedster Darius Law (Raleigh, N.C. /Southeast Raleigh) has been named ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic all-America in track and field as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), earning his second Academic all-America honor. 

A 4.0 business management major, Law was named the Arthur Ashe National Scholar-Athlete of the Year earlier this year and has won both the A-10 Indoor and Outdoor Track Student-Athlete of the Year Awards in each of the last two years.

A 2010 NCAA Indoor Track all-America in the 400 meters, Law was the only athlete in the country to qualify for both the 200 and 400 meter dashes at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track championships.   A 16-time Atlantic 10 individual event champion, Law has helped the 49ers men's team to three straight Atlantic 10 Indoor Track titles and two straight A-10 Outdoor Track titles.

In addition, Law is President of the 49ers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was the A-10 representative at the National SAAC Conference.

Law was a second team ESPN The Magazine Academic all-America in 2009 and becomes just the 10th student-athlete in school history two earn two Academic all-America honors.  Next year, Law will look to join women's soccer star Lindsey Ozimek and women's track standout Sharonda Johnson as the school's only three-time Academic all-America honorees.  He is also one of only six 49ers student-athletes that have earned both athletic and academic all-America honors.

Law is the fourth 49er to earn ESPN The Magazine Academic all-America honors this season, joining men's soccer's Adam Gross, women's soccer's Hailey Beam and golf's Corey Nagy.
