College athletics has evolved to the point where total physical preparation is necessary to be successful at the Division I level. Under the guidance of the strength and conditioning coach Ryan Atchison with the assistance of assistant strength and conditioning coaches Stacy Hummer and Richard Buford, they oversee the strength and conditioning training for the 49ers 16 sports. The 49ers strength and conditioning program makes use of the weight training facility in the Miltimore-Wallis Athletics and Academic Training Center. The Athletics and Academic Training Center includes a 5,400-square-foot weight room. It is equipped with a variety of free weight and systematic training equipment. The weight training facility is exclusively used by the 49ers athletic department and its student-athletes. The unlimited access allows the strength and conditioning staff the fl exibility in scheduling time in the facility assuring that the student-athletes are able to maximize their athletic development. |
