Charlotte 49ers Athletic Media Relations Internship

Term/Salary: Aug. 4, 2014 - June 6, 2015; $1250 per month
Supervisor - Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations

The Charlotte 49ers are seeking a highly-motivated, organized individual to serve an internship in the area of Athletic Media Relations for the 2014-15 academic year. Charlotte is located in a campus setting in northeast Charlotte. The university is a member of NCAA Division I and sponsors 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women.

The individual chosen will serve as the media contact for sports as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations and be responsible for all that entails, including publications, press releases, statistical updates, game coverage and maintenance of the athletic department website.

An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in a related field. The selected individual will have strong writing and interpersonal skills, working knowledge of athletic sport programs, and an aptitude and willingness to learn desktop publishing and statcrew software. This position does require weekend and evening hours.

Charlotte 49ers Media Production Internship

Term/Salary: Aug. 1, 2014 – May 31, 2015; $1,250 per month 
Supervisor - Media Production Coordinator

The Charlotte 49ers are seeking a highly-motivated, organized individual to serve an internship in the area video/media production for the 2014-15 academic year. A member of Conference USA, Charlotte is located in a campus setting in northeast Charlotte. The university is a member of NCAA Division I and sponsors 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women.

The individual chosen will serve as the video production assistant and report directly to Patrick Lebby, the Media Production Coordinator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: log tapes/highlights, shoot video highlights at games, edit highlights/b-roll/sound, write/edit feature content, assist in setup/implementation of online video streams and contribute in maintenance of official athletic website. 

An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in a related field. The selected individual will have strong knowledge about the various aspects of video production, editing experience (specifically non-linear) preferred, creativity and drive to contribute ideas and self-starter with a willingness to learn. This position does require weekend and evening hours.

Athletic Marketing and Promotions Internship - POSITION FILLED FOR 2013-14

Term/Salary: August 1, 2013- May 30, 2014; $1,200 per month (without benefits)

Supervisor: Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing

The Charlotte 49ers are seeking a highly motivated, organized and outgoing individual to serve an internship in the areas of athletic marketing, promotions, and event management for the 2013-14 academic year. A member of Conference USA, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is located in a campus setting in northeast Charlotte. The university is a member of NCAA Division I, and sponsors 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women, which includes the inaugural season of its football program.

The individual chosen for this position will be assigned substantive responsibilities in the areas of athletic marketing, promotions, event management, and ticketing products and other duties as determined and assigned by the internship supervisor listed above. Design abilities utilizing photoshop is preferred. An undergraduate degree is required for this position, and a master's degree in sports/athletic administration or a related field is preferred.

The Charlotte 49ers are seeking a highly motivated, organized and outgoing individual to serve an internship in the area of athletic ticketing for the 2013-14 academic year. A member of the Conference USA, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is located in a campus setting in northeast Charlotte. The university is a member of NCAA Division I, and sponsors 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women.

The individual chosen for this position will be assigned substantive responsibilities in the areas of athletic ticketing including extensive use of a computerized ticketing system, ticket reconciliation, customer service, outside sales of ticketing products and other duties as determined and assigned by the internship supervisor listed above. Additionally, event management and some marketing will be incorporated. An undergraduate degree is required for this position, and pursuance or completion of a master's degree in sports management/athletic administration or a related field is preferred.
