|Forty-Niner focus: 2013 women’s soccer players|
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Each Wednesday through the women’s soccer season, two current members of the Charlotte 49ers will be featured in a short, fun personality profile Q&A. Players were picked at random for the particular week but were presented the questions ahead of time.
This week’s 49er focus includes redshirt junior Taylor Dulaney and sophomore Monica Trickett.
1. What is your favorite pregame meal?
Dulaney: Wheat waffle with peanut butter
Trickett: Peanut butter and jelly
2. What is your pregame ritual?
Dulaney: I don’t really have a specific routine. I usually just eat a few hours before and listen to music until the locker room.
Trickett: Listen to music and say a prayer for myself and the team
3. Who is your favorite musical artist?
Dulaney: I am a big country fan…Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Tim McGraw, etc.
Trickett: Blake Shelton
4. What one thing, off the field, can you do better than most?
Dulaney: An awesome arm trick
5. What is one thing most people might not know about you?
Dulaney: Before I had my permit, my dad took me driving in a school parking lot to practice parking. And once I finally got in the spot perfectly, instead of hitting the brake, I hit the gas and drove his car into the school…whoops!
Trickett: I played the violin for a year. I also lived in Europe for a year.
6. What is your dream job?
Dulaney: Celebrity fitness trainer
Trickett: To own my own fitness center
7. What is your hometown famous for?
Dulaney: It’s Kernersville, literally nothing
Trickett: I currently live in Raleigh but I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. One of the famous attractions near there would be Cedar Point, an amusement park.
8. What do you believe it will take to have a successful season?
Dulaney: I think we will be successful if we continue working hard, putting the team first and staying positive.
Trickett: Every individual on the team having the same winning attitude and working as a team instead of a group of individuals.
9. What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
Dulaney: I see myself having a job in the medical field or exercise science-related, a family and a golden retriever puppy.
Trickett: Married, having a family and running a lot.
10. Who has been most influential in your life and why?
Dulaney: My parents are by far the most influential people in my life because they have constantly been there for me, encouraging me, providing me with the best opportunities and always supporting whatever I wanted to do.
Trickett: My family because they have pushed me through the tough injuries I’ve experienced and encouraged me to be where I am today.
11. What is your favorite quote/saying?

12. What is one food you will not try?
Dulaney: For Annika McHenry…a McDouble from McDonald’s
Trickett: Any insect
13. What is your favorite book?
Dulaney: Walk-On by Alan Williams
Trickett: The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
14. What is one of your pet peeves?
Dulaney: Flip flops in the winter
Trickett: Leaving cupboards open in the kitchen
