A trio of 49ers tied for 30th out of 81 golfers as the Charlotte team finished 12th at the Auburn Tiger Invitational following 36 holes on Tuesday. The Grand National Lake Course was relentless on golfers for the final two rounds, as no team was able to come within six shots of par as scores skyrocketed on the final day of the tournament.

After rains came through and washed out the second 18-hole round scheduled for Monday afternoon, the 15 teams played 36 holes on Tuesday to finish the tournament at the par-72, 7,149-yard course

Nine teams in the middle of the field were within 10 strokes of one another, with Mississippi State's 25-over 889 the winning score. Charlotte was at 46-over (295-309-306 910) for the tournament. Mississippi State's Chad Ramey was the only player in the field to finish under par, turning in a three-under 213 (72-71-70) over three rounds.

Senior Braeden Cryderman (Huntsville, Ontario / Queens University of Charlotte), junior Joe Toland (White River Junction, Vt. / Hartford HS) and sophomore Raoul Menard (Ange-Gardier, Quebec City / Beaulieu) all finished in a five-way tie for 30th at 12-over with a 229.

Junior Franco Castro (Alpharetta, Ga. / LSU) was one stroke back in a tie for 35th for the tournament.

Charlotte will play again in two weeks in Greensboro in the Linger Longer Invitational at Reynolds Plantation, Greatwaters Golf Club, starting Saturday, March 23.
