Columbia, SC - Forrest Edwards won his singles match, however, the Charlotte 49ers fell on the road at #39 South Carolina, 6-1, in men's tennis action.
South Carolina won all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. At number one doubles, Charlotte's Jack Williams and Jordi Massalle Ferrer lost to South Carolina's Chip Cox and Tsvetan Mihov, 7-5. At number two doubles, Charlotte's Alex Calott and Forrest Edwards lost to South Carolina's Kyle Koch and Harry Menzies, 8-3. At number three singles, Charlotte's Krzysztof Kwasniewicz and Alex Weber lost to South Carolina's Ben Barnette and Thiago Pinheiro, 8-3. South Carolina won five of the six singles matches to win the match. At number one singles, Charlotte's Williams lost to South Carolina's Mihov, 6-4, 6-4. At number two singles, Charlotte's Massalle Ferrer lost to South Carolina's Cox, 6-1, 6-1. At number three singles, Charlotte's Edwards defeated South Carolina's Koch, 4-6, 7-6, 1-0. At number four singles, Charlotte's Calott lost to South Carolina's Pinheiro, 7-5, 7-5. At number five singles, Charlotte's Paul Cisti lost to South Carolina's Menzies in three hard fought sets, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0. At number six singles, Charlotte's Nate Shanok lost to South Carolina's Barnette, 6-1, 6-0.
