Kalie Lang (#10) celebrates hitting a grand slam with her teammates as she crosses home plate.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Charlotte's Kalie Lang was named to the Atlantic 10 Softball All-Tournament team, the conference announced Saturday at the conclusion of the championship. Over three tourney games, Lang went a combined 5-for-10 with an RBI to lead the 49ers offense. Her best effort came against the Temple Owls during Wednesday's matchup, when she tallied three hits in four at-bats and drove in the go-ahead run for Charlotte in the fifth inning. Charlotte went 1-2 in tournament play, falling to eventual runner-up George Washington in the tourney opener, 9-2, before sending three-seed Temple home with a 4-2 victory. The Niners were eliminated from competition with a final 6-1 loss to Saint Joseph's Thursday night. Massachusetts was crowned the Atlantic 10 conference champion Saturday afternoon, defeating the GW Colonials, 3-2 on a walk off home run in the bottom of the seventh from Kyllie Magill. This marks the seventh A10 crown in eight years for UMass, which went undefeated in conference play this season. Charlotte concluded its season at 29-26 with a 10-10 conference record.
