Charlotte, NC - The women's basketball program worked with
Habitat for Humanity on a home last Friday, April 27. Habitat for Humanity is
an international organization that helps build decent, affordable homes around
the world for low-income families.
The 49ers women's basketball players and coaching staff
performed several duties last Friday. They dug holes to redo the foundation for
a deck. They put up a couple of structures with allowed volunteers easy access
to the roof. They pulled off shingles and tar paper off one side of the roof.
Then, they put new tar paper on the side of the roof that they had pulled the
old tar paper off.
The 49ers women's basketball team's working with Habitat for
Humanity is just one example of the numerous community service projects that Charlotte
49ers student-athletes perform. Charlotte 49ers student-athletes have helped at
youth sports clinics, read to elementary school children, visited the Levine
Children's Hospital and participated in the Toys for Tots program and Red Cross
Blood Drives.
