Charlotte sophomore guard Derrio Green (Panama City, Fla.) was named Atlantic 10 co-Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 2 while freshman forward Chris Braswell (Capitol Heights, Md.) was named co-Rookie of the Week by the league office.

Green averaged 27 points in two games, scoring a career-best 31 points against #20 Georgia Tech and netting 23 in the Niners win over Mercer.  Green hit 10 three-pointers on the week and shot .516 from the field and .455 from long range.  In the win over Mercer he added career highs with five rebounds, five assists and three steals and against Georgia Tech he spurred the 49ers rally that erased a 15-point second half deficit to give Charlotte a late lead.

Braswell averaged a double-double of 11.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in the 49ers two games to earn his second A-10 Rookie of the Week honor.  He posted his fifth double-double of the year with 14 points and 14 rebounds vs. Mercer and added an 8-point; 11-rebound outing vs. #20 Georgia Tech, to grab game-high rebounding honors with his sixth double-figure rebound game.

Green is the second 49er to earn A-10 Player of the Week honors.  Shamari Spears won the award Nov. 28.  Braswell's award is the third for a 49er as A-10 Rookie of the Week.  Shamarr Bowden won the award Nov. 14 and Braswell won his first award Dec. 5.

The 49ers, 10-3, travel to Tennessee, Wednesday.
